Die Ausstellung Frankfurt-Auschwitz zur Vernichtung der Roma und Sinti wird vom 10. April bis 31. Mai 2011 im (täglich von 10 bis 18 Uhr) Dokumentationszentrum Prora (Rügen) gezeigt.
Im Begleitprogramm zur Ausstellung findet im Dokumentationszentrum Prora am 14. Mai 2011 um 17:00 Uhr die Veranstaltung „Antiziganismus in Deutschland“ – Kinder von Holocaust-Überlebenden berichten“ statt. Ursula Rose und Marie Strauss, deren Eltern NS-Konzentrationslager überlebt haben, sprechen über die Traumata der 1. und 2. Generation von Holocaust-Überlebenden und die Diskriminierung der Sinti und Roma nach 1945.
The exhibition involves the persecution and annihilation of Roma and Sinti during National Socialism and its effects into the present. The focus lies on the liquidation of the so-called Zigeunerlager in Auschwitz-Birkenau on August 2nd 1944, the NS history of the city of Frankfurt and her leading role in persecuting Roma and Sinti. 500,000 Roma and Sinti were murdered by National Socialists.

The exhibition is divided into four areas.
1st The documentary part
Photographs of the murdered and the survivors of the NS system of annihilation
with their vitae, the mentioning of the NS culprits, their functions and careers
after 1945, the claim for a central memorial and the history of the memorial
plaque at the former health office of the city of Frankfurt/Main. On the triptych
“The camp, the annihilation, the dead” one can watch the history
of a German Roma family over a period of 150 years. The documentary part becomes
completed by informations about the holder of the exhibition, the Förderverein
Roma e. V.
2nd The artistic part
In the centre of the artistic part of the exhibition are the places Frankfurt
and Auschwitz-Birkenau, the persecution and annihilation of Roma and Sinti.
The pictures are part of a pictorial examination of the German crime on humanity.
In the triptych “The camp, the annihilation, the dead” the documentary
and artistic part are evolved into a new whole.
3rd Films about Frankfurt-Auschwitz
Different contributions show an interview with the NS physician Eva Justin,
her racial biological examinations of Sinti children and a documentation about
the deportation of Roma and Sinti from Frankfurt/Main to Auschwitz. Furthermore
to be watched is the putting up of the memorial plaque on the former health
office of the city of Frankfurt/Main, the work-place of the NS culprit before
and after 1945. The whole duration of the media documentation amounts to 30
minutes.
4th Accompanying events
The opening has the intention and development of the exhibition as its topic.
The experience of survivors and their children will be discussed with relatives.
The persecution and annihilation of Roma and Sinti and its historical effects
will be clarified by historians and finally an exhibition and pictorial examination
with the KunstGesellschaft e. V. from Frankfurt/Main will interpret the artistic
and documentary part.
Furthermore hand-outs are available in the exhibition rooms, deepening –
as well as in the catalogue – the contents of the exhibiting by contributions
and interviews. History, backgrounds, documentation of the places of exhibiting

Die
Ausstellung Prora war vom im Mai/Juni 2010 in Saarbrücken Vortrag
im Rahmen der Ausstellung "Das Paradies der Volksgemeinschaft"statt. Vortrag:

9.4.2011 bis 15.6.2011 Frankfurt - Auschwitz - Die Vernichtung der Sinti und Roma im Nationalsozialismus Die Ausstellung hat die Verfolgung und Vernichtung der Roma und Sinti im Nationalsozialismus und dessen Wirkungsgeschichte bis in die Gegenwart zum Inhalt. Im Zentrum steht die Liquidierung des sog. Zigeunerlagers in Auschwitz-Birkenau am 2.8.1944 sowie die Auseinandersetzung mit der NS-Geschichte der Stadt Frankfurt am Main und ihrer Vorreiterrolle bei der Verfolgung der Roma und Sinti. 500 000 Roma und Sinti wurden durch Nationalsozialisten ermordet.
Frankfurt–Auschwitz - Die Ausstellung ist in vier Bereiche unterteilt
1. Der dokumentarische Teil Bilder der Ermordeten und der Überlebenden des NS-Vernichtungssystems mit ihren Lebens läufen, die Nennung der NS-Täter, ihrer Funktionen und Karrieren nach 1945, die Forderung nach einer zentralen Gedenkstätte und die Geschichte der Mahntafel am ehemaligen Gesundheitsamt Frankfurt am Main. Auf dem Tripthychon “Das Lager, Die Vernichtung, Die Toten” ist die 150jährige Geschichte einer deutschen Roma-Familie zu sehen. Ergänzt wird der dokumentarische Teil durch Informationen über den Träger der Ausstellung Förderverein Roma e. V.
2. Der künstlerische Teil - Im Zentrum des künstlerischen Teils
der Ausstellung stehen die Orte Frankfurt und Auschwitz-
Birkenau, die Verfolgung und Vernichtung der Roma und Sinti. Die Bilder sind
Teil einer Bildauseinan dersetzung zum deutschen Menschheitsverbrechen. Im
Tripthychon “Das Lager, Die Vernichtung, Die Toten” wird der dokumentarische
und der künstlerische Teil zu einem neuen
Ganzen entwickelt.
3. Filme zu Frankfurt-Auschwitz. Verschiedene Beiträge zeigen ein Interview mit der NS-Ärztin Eva Justin, ihre rassenbiologische Untersuchung an Sinti-Kindern und eine Dokumentation über die Deportation der Roma und Sinti von Frankfurt am Main nach Auschwitz. Zu sehen ist weiterhin die Anbringung der Mahntafel am ehemaligen tadtgesundheitsamt Frankfurt am Main, dem Arbeitsplatz der NS-Täterin vor und nach 1945. Die Gesamtdauer der Mediendoku-men-tation beträgt etwa 30 Minuten.
4. Die Begleitveranstaltungen - Die Eröffnung thematisiert Intention
und Entwicklung der Ausstellung. In einem Gespräch mit Angehörigen
wird über die Erfahrung der Überlebenden und deren Kinder berichtet.
Die Verfolgung und Vernichtung der Roma und Sinti und deren Wirkungsgeschichte
erläutern Historiker und schließlich interpretiert ein Ausstellungs-
bzw. Bildgespräch mit der
KunstGesellschaft e. V. aus Frankfurt am Main den künstlerischen und
den
dokumentarischen Teil.
Zusätzlich liegen in den usstellungsräumen Handreichungen aus,
welche – ebenso wie der Katalog - den Ausstellungsinhalt in Beiträgen
und Interviews vertiefen. Geschichte, Hintergründe, Dokumentation
